White tea is the most subtle of all tea types, using only the finest leaves from each tea bush with minimal amount of processing. White tea, with a high concentration of antioxidants, helps fight against heart disease and cancer-causing radicals. Additional health benefit of white tea includes aid in weight loss.
This tea has a light honey sweet aroma and taste. In the production of white tea the selected young leaves are steamed and dried in the sun. The absence of fermentation, withering, rolling and oxidation of the leaves allow white tea to contain great concentrations of polyphenol antioxidant. The downs on the white tea leaves are clearly visible and give it a silvery-white appearance. Varieties include Silver Needle, White Peony and other gourmet teas.
